Where is Enjoy Oisans ?

General information on how to get to us in Bourg d’Oisans

By Plane

Our nearest airport is Grenoble Isere at 90km (1hr30), the airport is serviced by several low cost airlines including Easyjet, and Ryanair, with regular services from Stanstead in the south and Manchester in the north, and from Dublin.

  • Lyon airport is 140km (2hr00), a large international airport receiving flights from many UK regional airports as well as long haul flights.  http://www.lyonaeroports.com/eng

  • Geneva at 190km (2hr45) is a much larger international airport with a large number of flights available. http://www.gva.ch/en/

  • Chambéry-Savoie airport is 115km (1hr45), and provides winter only flights from the low cost airlines

If you arrive at Lyon Airport by plane we recommend catching either the train or airport coach to Grenoble.

From Lyon Airport

From Lyon you can take the train direct from the airport terminal to Grenoble, for information on the train times and tickets see http://www.raileurope.co.uk or http://www.tgv-europe.com/en . For the airport coach see website http://www.faurevercors.fr/index2_en.html

From Geneva Airport

If you arrive at Geneva or Chambrey Airports we recommend catching the airport coach to Grenoble. As you arrive in the arrivals hall at the airport immediately in front of you is the information desk where you can be pointed to the coach stop, it is approx 50m and signposted for long distance coaches.  Your ticket can be purchased on the day from the information desk or in advance via the website www.aerocar.fr/en/

All airports have car hire facilities.

By Train

Grenoble has a major railway station in the centre of the city receiving regular trains from all over Europe.

You can take the Eurostar service from London to Paris and a direct TGV from Paris to Grenoble. This service requires a station change in Paris, it is simple and well signposted via the metro (underground), however, allow at least an hour for the transfer in case of a delay on your arriving train and to negotiate the metro.  Bikes in bags and boxes are welcomed on both service without charge.

By Bus

There are a few companies offering a bus/bike service from the UK to Grenoble, have a look at http://www.bike-express.co.uk/

For services from Lyon Airport look at http://www.faurevercors.fr/index2_en.html

For services from Geneva Airport look www.aerocar.fr/en/

For local buses from Grenoble to Bourg d’Oisans the service provider is Transisere, timetables and prices can be found on their website http://www.transisere.fr/ subject to your arrival time in Grenoble the bus can be a great option as the fare is approx 5euros and they are happy to take your bike.

By Minibus

For guests staying with us our week long cycling holiday stays or in groups we can provide a pick up service from both Grenoble Airport and Grenoble Station. Please contact us for pricing and availability.

Directions to Enjoy Oisans from Grenoble by Car

From Lyon you will stay on the A480/E712 around Grenoble until junction 8, the turning for the N85.

Please note that Junctions 5,6,7 and 8 are practically on top of each other -be careful not to miss junction 8.

When you come off at junction 8 just keep following the road, you will come to a roundabout which you go straight over following the signs to VIZILLE N85.

Keep going on the same road until you nearly reach Vizille where there is a petrol station on the left and a sign showing BOURG D'OISANS N91 on the right. Turn right at the roundabout (it's a tight bend) on to the N91 and basically stay on this road, don't turn off until you reach Bourg d'Oisans. You will go through various villages on your way.

You will know when your reach the village because a sign tells you! As you come into the centre slow down. The main road bears round to the left but you need to go straight ahead passing the shops and bars for a few hundred yards. Turn right along Rue Capitaine Meunier, which runs alongside the park. On the right there is a large free car park. Park here and walk up to the top of the road, then to the right in to Rue Docteur Daddy.  Carry straight on along the road past the Biblioteque and the Crepizza restaurant.  The narrow turning in to Rue Chateau Perrier is on the left hand side and the house faces you as you turn in to the road.

Saturday is market day in Bourg d'Oisans and if you're arriving in the village in the morning you'll be forced to bear left in to the town rather than going straight ahead past the bars and the shops.
